Manchester United legend Paul Scholes says it won't be a disaster for English football if Manchester City are found guilty of financial breaches.

  • WHAT HAPPENED?

    City face 115 charges of breaking financial regulations from the Premier League, with the case already underway. Many are calling for the English champions to be hit with a massive points deduction, while there have also been demands for them to be relegated from the Premier League.

    The case is expected to drag on for some time as City are likely to appeal against any guilty ruling. Scholes is not worried about the long process, though, as he says the English top-flight will not be devastated by a guilty ruling.

    "In an ideal world, they (Manchester City’s owners) probably are the best but there’s regulations that you have to keep to," he said on The Overlap podcast, brought to you by . "I don’t think it will be a massive disaster for English football [if City are proved guilty]. It will be bad for the integrity of Manchester City, not the league."
